Welcome to D’EL PRADO CHIHUAHUAS Kennel.

The name of the kennel honors our family roots. It comes from the name El Prado Farm which in English translates to “The Meadow Farm”, a property in Cuba acquired by our ancestors who emigrated from the Canary Islands.

My name is Dr. Aroldo Hernández Gutiérrez, veterinarian by profession, kennel owner, Cuban by birth, and proudly a U.S. citizen. We live in South Florida in the beautiful city of Miami. There I have combined my passion for veterinary medicine with my love and dedication to one of the most fascinating and charming dog breeds in the world: the Chihuahua.

We goal is to produce dog that faithfully represent the American breed standard, always prioritizing health, balanced temperament and the compact, elegant structure that allows for excellent movement. We strive to develop alert, agile, confident dogs with a lively and bold expression. This is always done promoting their physical and emotional well-being as well as their harmonious integration into responsible family homes.

We are thankful that with my veterinarian skills I can ensure that our dogs are raised in a very healthy, controlled, clean and loving environment. We focus on a very and carefully planned breeding program with strong emphasis on genetic quality and overall pristine development of each dog.
